Digital goods API

Evaluate the API partnership behind your digital-goods product.

APISMA offers private API access by agreement for approved B2B partners. Start with the customer experience you want to support, then confirm the product scope, technical requirements and commercial terms together.

For business integrations, not consumer purchases or self-service API keys.

The service model

Your customer experience.
An agreed integration scope.

Separate the roles before choosing an API partner. A successful connection does not, by itself, define who answers a customer, updates product information or resolves an uncertain result.

Your business product

You own the experience in your store, wallet, rewards program or travel product: what users see, the decisions they make and the support route you give them. Document the experience before assuming which API fields it needs.

The partner relationship

APISMA reviews your company, intended categories and expected volume. Product availability, commercial conditions and access are discussed for the proposed relationship; a category page is not a supply commitment.

The technical agreement

Account-specific documentation follows the access decision. Your technical team should confirm how the agreed integration handles product information, customer actions and recovery before implementation.

Before choosing a provider

Evaluate the parts that affect your launch.

An API can fit one customer journey and be unsuitable for another. Use the same questions with product, engineering and commercial teams so that the review produces a decision, not a feature wish list.

  • Customer and product fit

What does the customer receive or activate? Which category fits that action? Establish that before asking about brands, countries or platforms.

  • Information before confirmation

Which restrictions must appear before a customer proceeds? Region, platform, recipient or device conditions can change the buying decision.

  • Support responsibilities

Who investigates an unresolved action? Decide how customer support will find safe context and how technical questions are escalated.

  • Commercial clarity

Confirm the intended distribution model and get applicable terms in writing. An estimated volume range is neither a quoted rate nor a purchase commitment.

  • Technical fit

Review the material relevant to the approved scope. Do not infer authentication, data formats or operation behavior from general planning guidance.

  • Launch evidence

Agree what a representative test should demonstrate before making customer-facing promises. A successful request is not proof of every product or exception path.

From evaluation to a decision

What the access conversation needs to establish.

You do not need a finished implementation to start. Bring enough context to make the first review specific; keep credentials, end-customer records and sensitive operational data out of the request.

  1. 01

    Describe the business case

Explain the business product, intended customers and the moment where digital goods would appear. Select the categories and a realistic monthly volume range.

  2. 02

    Review scope and responsibilities

A person assesses the request and decides the next step. Use the conversation to clarify product fit, commercial assumptions and who owns the integration.

  3. 03

    Confirm before building

After approval, review the applicable private material and written terms. Resolve open product and technical questions before committing to a customer launch.

Common questions

Questions about the partnership.

Is a digital goods API the same as a public product catalog?

No. An API is an integration interface; a catalog is product information that an integration may use. APISMA’s public categories describe customer jobs. They do not confirm current SKUs, inventory or prices.

Can one business request more than one category?

Yes, the access request accepts category interests. Explain the distinct customer job for each. Selecting a category requests a discussion; it does not establish that every requested product or market is available.

Where should our engineers start?

Use the public planning guides to prepare decisions about product information, duplicate actions and failure handling. Technical documentation is intended to be openly readable. Credentials, individual terms and environment settings remain private, and API execution requires approval.

Does sending a request guarantee access?

No. Submission begins manual qualification. It does not create an account, issue credentials or establish commercial terms.

Bring a defined business case to the review.

Share your contact and company details, category interests and expected volume in the form. Prepare the customer journey and intended markets for the follow-up conversation.

Submitting a request does not create an account or guarantee approval.
